I’m an independent computer tech/software developer by trade, with various other interests like fishing, starting biotech companies, and naked-eye observable astronomy.

My primary interest is finding ways to keep computers from infestation by undesirable software (“malware”) and cleaning up the results of such infestations, as well as providing some education on how to avoid being victimized on the Internet.

    hmmmm…
    I have walked away too many times, jumped on the freeway and 20 minutes later, realized that I left my flash drive on somebody’s computer. very annoying.

    Need a “proximity alarm” tied to my keychain – that yells when the flash drive is further than 20 feet from me pocket,, arrrrgh!!!

    Why not improve memory…??
    Or, employ a simple departure checklist…car keys,…et al.

    Also, how many times after the first did this happen..?

    Finally, think of the global warming in turnarounds….

    Your suggestions are reasonable; and wasted fuel, contributions to global warming, etc. as a result of having to return to a prior site unnecessarily are certainly valid.

    Improving memory has long been a goal, but with mixed results so far.

    I’ve tried to tie the drive to my car keys to build-in a departure checklist… with some success.

    However, in the end, it happens with irritating frequency… a human failing.
